Spanish Interpreter (In‑person & Remote)

About the role

The Spanish Interpreter provides both in‑person and remote interpretation services to Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and their service providers. The role ensures accurate, impartial, and confidential communication across a variety of settings such as clinics, hospitals, schools, community‑based organizations, and government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and confidential interpretation in Spanish for LEP clients in person, by telephone, videoconference, or other virtual platforms.
• Track interpretation assignments and work hours using designated software.
• Participate in trainings, assessments, and occasional special projects.
• Support field‑based activities within the service delivery area, including occasional weekend or evening work.

Required profile

• High school diploma strongly preferred; interpretation certification preferred.
• Relevant professional interpretation experience, especially with refugee or immigrant populations.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to build trust with clients and partners.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and fluent spoken Spanish.
• Reliable transportation to appointment locations.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office.
