Software Developer – Web & Backend Applications

About the role

Emerson is looking for a Software Developer to design, build, and enhance modern software solutions that support distributed enterprise systems. You will work on scalable web and backend applications that manage complex data, enable automated analysis, and integrate with monitoring hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web‑based and backend software applications for enterprise‑level systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that serve as standard system interfaces.
• Build and optimise data access layers using document‑based and relational databases.
• Apply sound software architecture and design principles and document solutions clearly.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in commercial and internally developed software.
• Continuously learn and apply modern development tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years hands‑on experience developing web applications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, innovative environment.

Required skills

• TypeScript, React, JavaScript
• ASP.NET, C#
• RESTful API design and consumption
• MongoDB, SQL‑based databases, LINQ
• Azure SQL or similar cloud‑based database platforms (preferred)
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (preferred)
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure application development (preferred)
• Familiarity with containers, messaging technologies, event‑driven architectures, DevOps, and CI practices (preferred)
