Quality Lead – State Highway Projects

About the role

The Quality Lead will drive quality outcomes for vital state highway maintenance and operations in the Waikato region. You will provide subject‑matter expertise, lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and implement robust quality‑assurance processes that directly impact the transport network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead field quality‑assurance activities, including audits and inspections.
• Develop and implement quality frameworks and processes for highway projects.
• Review and approve quality‑management documentation.
• Mentor contractors and staff on quality‑control methodologies.
• Manage non‑conformance processes and drive corrective actions.
• Analyse quality data and implement targeted improvements.
• Prepare performance reports for senior management.
• Roll out new standards and facilitate feedback from teams.
• Deliver quality‑focused training programmes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in state highway construction and maintenance.
• Proven track record with quality‑management systems and processes.
• Ability to review and approve technical documentation.
• Strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated mentoring and relationship‑management capabilities.

• ISO 9001 quality‑assurance framework.
