About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support its Labour Mobility & Social Inclusion (LMI) initiatives in Burundi. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the LMI Senior Project Associate, the incumbent will provide essential administrative, operational, financial and logistical assistance to ensure effective project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support for LMI projects, including youth employment promotion, diaspora engagement, skills development, social inclusion and migration governance.
- Coordinate planning, organization and logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings and field missions (venue booking, invitations, participant lists, travel arrangements).
- Draft, edit and format routine project documentation such as emails, official correspondence, travel requests, mission reports and meeting minutes.
- Assist with financial and procurement procedures in collaboration with relevant units.
- Liaise with government institutions, UN agencies, civil society and private sector partners to facilitate timely project implementation.
Required profile
- Open to national candidates only (Burundian nationals).
- Under the supervision of senior staff, able to work autonomously and follow established workplans.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
