About the role
We are looking for a physics expert to work remotely on a short‑term contract, designing and solving advanced physics problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. The position starts immediately and runs for 11 weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Design and solve challenging physics problems for LLM evaluation.
- Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
- Collaborate with LLM researchers on benchmark creation and reasoning tasks.
- Help define new evaluation benchmarks spanning undergraduate to PhD‑level physics.
- Analyze complex physics problems using a logical, structured approach.
- Explain physics concepts clearly using simple language, visuals, and reasoning.
Required profile
- Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: QuTiP, OQuPy, QuSpin, TenPy, Strawberry Fields, openEMS, ngspice, Quantum ESPRESSO, OpenFOAM, FEniCS/FEniCSx (DOLFINx), WarpX, REBOUND, PYTHIA, Kwant, Elmer FEM, GF180MCU PDK, Sky130 PDK, FreeCAD, Project Chrono, Scilab Xcos, volare, emcee, Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, gmsh, pyarmadillo, MeshLab.
