Maths Teacher – Remote Short‑Term Contract ($346 per task)

About the role

This is a remote, short‑term contract for a mathematics expert to design and solve challenging problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. The position starts immediately and runs for 11 weeks, requiring 8 hours of work per day with a 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers on benchmark creation and reasoning tasks.
• Help define new evaluation benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical challenges using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, Ph.D., or current Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Creative and lateral thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities in a remote setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO‑07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
