Maintenance Supervisor – Underground Trucks & Loaders

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team at Epiroc Zambia’s Chingola facility, ensuring that underground trucks, loaders and related equipment are kept in safe, reliable condition. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to minimise downtime and support operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff and external contractors.
• Develop, implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Inspect facilities and equipment regularly, identifying and resolving issues.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimise production loss.
• Manage inventory of tools, spare parts and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Train and mentor team members to improve technical and safety skills.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, costs and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall operational objectives.

Required profile

• Advanced Technician Certificate, Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management or a related field (TL2 advantageous).
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience on underground Epiroc trucks and loaders, including 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydraulics, electrical, RCS and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
