Java Technical Architect

About the role

Accenture’s Cloud First team in Mauritius is seeking an experienced Java Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of high‑performance Java solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable applications built on the Spring ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and develop Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data and Spring Security.
• Create and maintain database schemas and data access layers with Hibernate/JPA.
• Develop and expose RESTful APIs to enable integration between services.
• Write unit tests with JUnit and collaborate with QA to ensure code quality.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance to a team of developers and enforce best‑practice standards.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimization strategies.
• Apply security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Document architecture, design decisions and user guides.
• Assist in project planning, resource allocation and delivery tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Systems (Master’s preferred).
• Proven experience as a Java architect or senior developer, preferably in a cloud‑focused environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
