About the role
The International Tourism Specialist will lead the design and implementation of community‑based tourism initiatives in the Pacific region. You will work closely with small‑scale operators, local stakeholders, and the project team to create sustainable tourism solutions that support economic resilience and environmental stewardship.
Key responsibilities
- Lead tourism assessments, focus group discussions and stakeholder mapping.
- Design and oversee community‑based tourism plans and related activities.
- Collect, review, and analyse relevant data, including GIS mapping inputs.
- Conduct site visits, engage stakeholders and facilitate co‑design workshops.
- Prepare tourism concepts, costing, phasing and packaging of interventions.
- Support the preparation of implementation plans for each project component.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in tourism management, hospitality, business administration or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing community‑based tourism schemes and working with small‑scale operators.
- Prior experience in the Pacific region is preferred.
