Floor Technician

About the role

The Floor Technician joins the Engineering department of Raffles Seychelles, supporting the upkeep and operation of guest villas and hotel facilities. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will ensure that all physical plant elements, from electrical systems to water plants, are maintained to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Work a 48‑hour week, adhering to scheduled breaks and meal times.
• Perform pre‑arrival checks on guest villas, including painting, electrical work, air‑conditioning, swimming‑pool operation, wooden fixtures, flooring, cladding and furniture.
• Locate, diagnose and correct defects in electrical systems and equipment.
• Install electrical fittings in villas, buildings and other structures.
• Liaise with clients and internal personnel, keeping them informed of progress and timelines.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, hazard‑free work environment.
• Monitor stock levels, tools and materials to ensure efficient task completion.
• Assist other departments as needed and remain flexible to assigned tasks.
• Perform basic power‑outage troubleshooting and daily water‑plant checks, recording usage and tank levels.
