Field Security Associate (G6) – United Nations

About the role

The Field Security Associate supports the Deputy Security Adviser and Security Coordination Officer in delivering security operations for United Nations personnel in Djibouti. This position contributes to the safe implementation of UN programmes in a complex environment, aligning with the Department of Safety and Security’s mission to enable UN activities through trusted security leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of security operations and safety management for UN staff within the Area of Responsibility.
• Support the coordination of security measures, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security plans and procedures.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for security activities.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure effective security solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience in security, risk management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work in challenging and multicultural environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UN security management systems and protocols.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in preparing security reports and documentation.
