Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads the Rooms Division at Raffles Seychelles, overseeing all front‑office and guest‑room operations to ensure the delivery of ultra‑luxury service. Reporting to the Resort Manager, this senior leader is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all departments within the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services.
• Monitor daily room inventory, rates, bookings, and occupancy to optimise revenue and minimise over‑booking.
• Prepare and control weekly work schedules, Manager on Duty rosters, and labour forecasts in line with business demand.
• Audit staff adherence to hotel policies, procedures and service standards; conduct regular meetings with divisional managers.
• Review financial performance, including departmental profit, payroll, room expenses and cost per occupied room.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and ensure resolutions meet brand standards.
• Oversee out‑of‑order rooms, coordinate maintenance work orders and track return to inventory.
• Support the planning of in‑house group activities and ensure seamless execution.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of hotel features, room types, rates, packages and promotional offers.
• Proven experience in managing a large Rooms Division within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret occupancy, revenue and budgeting data.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities to motivate staff and collaborate with other departments.
• Ability to respond quickly to guest needs and resolve issues in line with Raffles brand standards.
