Data Engineer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Data Engineer to support its global data strategy. You will help design, build, and maintain ELT pipelines and data models on Azure Databricks and the IRC Lakehouse, enabling reliable data access for humanitarian programs worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain ELT pipelines using Databricks Workflows and Azure Data Factory for batch and scheduled processing.
• Ingest data from core systems such as D365 CRM and ServiceNow into the Lakehouse.
• Monitor pipeline execution, troubleshoot failures, and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Develop and maintain dbt models across staging, intermediate, and mart layers, including tests and source freshness checks.
• Write intermediate to advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, data architects, analysts, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
