Controller – Finance Leader

About the role

As the Controller for Klean Kanteen, you will serve as both a strategic financial leader and a hands‑on operator, overseeing the entire accounting function and influencing key investment decisions that support the company’s mission to eliminate single‑use waste.

Key responsibilities

• Champion Klean Kanteen’s mission and values in all interactions with customers, partners, and staff.
• Hire, mentor, and manage the accounting team, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closings, expense reviews, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage banking relationships, prepare borrowing base certificates, and ensure covenant compliance.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strategic financial leader with a hands‑on approach to accounting.
• Proven experience managing full‑cycle accounting functions without an intermediate manager.
• Strong ability to hire, develop, and lead finance professionals.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
