Controller – Finance Leader for Beauty & Fashion Brand

About the role

We are a fast‑growing California‑based beauty, fashion and wellness brand seeking an experienced Controller to lead our financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will ensure accurate reporting, audit readiness, and a strong internal control environment while supporting rapid business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement internal controls to support audit readiness and financial accuracy.
• Lead a structured monthly close process, aiming to reduce close time while maintaining precision.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage external audits and work closely with auditors to improve efficiencies.
• Develop and enforce system controls within NetSuite to mitigate risk.
• Strengthen cash management, treasury operations, and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience in retail or consignment operations preferred.
• Background in public accounting or internal audit preferred.
• Proven ability to improve financial close efficiency.
• Experience thriving in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
