Contract Engineer – Polihali Transfer Tunnel Project

About the role

The Contract Engineer and Assistant Contract Engineer will support the Chief Resident Engineer on the Polihali Transfer Tunnel, a key component of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project Phase II. The role focuses on contractual administration, monthly measurement and payment certification, and claims management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue monthly measurement and payment certificates for tunnel works.
• Interpret contract documents and advise on adjudication of claims.
• Support the Engineer with all contractual issues, including change orders and variations.
• Assist in evaluating and documenting claims in accordance with FIDIC procedures.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying, registered as a Professional Engineer or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years post‑graduate experience in civil engineering works.
• At least 10 years experience as a Contract Engineer or Quantity Surveyor on major civil projects.
• Minimum 10 years experience working with FIDIC contracts.
• Proven track record in contractual matters and claims evaluation.
