CAD & BIM Technician

About the role

Arup is seeking an experienced CAD & BIM Technician to join its multidisciplinary MEP team. The role involves delivering high‑quality engineering drawings and 3D models from concept through to detailed design, supporting a range of local, regional and international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering drawings and BIM models for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services throughout all project stages.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and discipline engineers to define deliverable schedules and integrate them into the model.
• Use Revit, Navisworks and related BIM tools to model pipework, ventilation, lighting, power, containment and drainage systems.
• Coordinate services, produce accurate drawing sets, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Communicate design intent through sketches, presentations and written documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• Relevant experience using drafting and BIM software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Dynamo and Navisworks.
• Background in the building services industry, either in consultancy or contracting.
• Proven ability to develop drawings and models from engineer sketches with minimal supervision.
• Strong understanding of Revit MEP modelling and drawing production.
