Business Advisory Accountant (2-4 yrs experience)

About the role

Join the Business Advisory Services (BAS) team in Auckland and help a diverse client base with financial reporting, tax compliance and strategic advice. This position is ideal for accountants with 2‑4 years of experience looking to deepen technical expertise while beginning to lead projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns and management reports.
• Maintain high‑quality electronic workpapers and improve templates and processes.
• Use Xero, APS and Excel to deliver accurate, insightful client outcomes.
• Identify risks, trends and opportunities for clients.
• Work directly with clients in a solutions‑focused manner.
• Communicate and collaborate closely with Directors and Managers.
• At senior/supervisor level, review junior work, own engagements and seek additional service opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) with a major in Accounting.
• 2–4+ years’ experience in a Chartered Accounting firm.
• CA or CPA qualification, or actively working towards it.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
