Beauty Buyer

About the role

The Beauty Buyer at Holt Renfrew will lead the sourcing and selection of beauty products that align with the company’s luxury strategy. This role combines market insight, vendor negotiation, and team leadership to drive sales and margin performance across the beauty category.

Key responsibilities

• Build, coach and retain a high‑performing buying team, fostering professional development and meeting performance targets.
• Attend national and international market shows to curate collections, assess trends and select product assortments.
• Define buying strategy: determine range, colour, size, pricing and negotiate competitive bids within budget.
• Analyze competitors, buying patterns and forecast future trends to inform assortment decisions.
• Select reliable vendors, manage purchase orders, and oversee open‑to‑buy planning to maximise inventory control.
• Ensure timely delivery, negotiate discounts for late shipments, and manage inventory performance.
• Develop financial plans, prepare seasonal business reviews and present results to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with store teams, marketing and vendors to execute promotional activities and co‑op programs.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure advertised merchandise is delivered on schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience in buying or merchandising within luxury fashion or beauty retail.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and forecast trends.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor‑management skills.
• Leadership experience, capable of motivating and developing a team.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for market shows.
