Associate Dean of Admissions

About the role

The Associate Dean – Admissions will join the leadership team of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, overseeing the recruitment, screening, and selection of MD program applicants. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, this senior faculty position guides the admissions process while advancing educational innovation and scholarship.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior advisor to the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education and member of the medical school leadership team.
• Provide strategic oversight and hands‑on management of all admissions activities, including recruitment, applicant screening, interview coordination, and final selection.
• Ensure admissions initiatives align with the School of Medicine’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
• Lead efforts in educational innovation, curriculum development, and promotion of medical education scholarship.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of applicant information and uphold unbiased selection processes.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) degree with board certification in a relevant specialty and active licensure.
• Minimum five years of experience in undergraduate medical education, with prior leadership responsibilities preferred.
• Rank of Associate Professor or Professor (tenure‑track or non‑tenure‑track) is desirable.
• Demonstrated commitment to the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, clinical care, and community engagement.
• Strong collaborative abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, and proven organizational and time‑management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting strict deadlines.
