Assistant Buyer - Women's Footwear

About the role

The Assistant Buyer – Women’s Footwear will support the buying team in managing product assortments, monitoring sales performance, and coordinating with vendors. This position offers exposure to luxury brand partnerships and a fast‑paced fashion environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor sales and margin performance, interpreting variances against budget and forecast.
• Create and track purchase orders, manage open‑to‑buy reporting, and verify vendor order confirmations.
• Follow up with vendors to resolve distribution issues and support forecast preparation.
• Assist in monthly/seasonal markdown sessions and stock level monitoring.
• Prepare pre‑market analysis, financial plans, and seasonal business reviews with Buyers and Planners.
• Maintain sample inventory, coordinate trunk shows, special events, and in‑store product knowledge sessions.
• Provide in‑season sales analysis for repeats, consolidations, and RTVs.
• Support store allocations, vendor relationships, and compliance with health, safety, and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of post‑university experience in buying, merchandising, or a related retail function.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
