ABAP RAP SAP Technical Consultant

About the role

ABeam Consulting is seeking an experienced ABAP RAP SAP Technical Consultant to lead end‑to‑end development and optimization of S/4HANA solutions for our global clients. You will work closely with functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical designs while ensuring clean‑core principles and performance excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ABAP design, development, and optimization for S/4HANA systems.
• Remediate and optimize custom code during S/4HANA migrations.
• Develop solutions using ABAP Objects, CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services.
• Design and enhance applications with the RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) framework.
• Build and support applications on SAP BUILD and SAP Business Process Automation.
• Create SAP BTP workflows and integrate with SAP Public Cloud implementations.
• Develop SAP Fiori/UI5 backend services and integrations.
• Implement interfaces using IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Proxy, REST, and SOAP APIs.
• Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Support production issues and lead root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Strong experience in S/4HANA ABAP development and custom code adaptation.
• Proficiency with CDS Views (basic, composite, consumption, analytical).
• Good understanding of AMDP and HANA SQLScript.
• Experience with RAP/EML and OData services (SEGW or RAP‑based).
• Hands‑on knowledge of SAP Fiori backend enablement and UI5/Fiori front‑end.
• Familiarity with SAP BUILD, SAP Business Process Automation, and SAP BTP integrations.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
