Tax Manager – Rwanda

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead all tax-related activities in Rwanda, ensuring full compliance with local tax legislation and supporting the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all tax-related activities and ensure compliance with Rwanda tax laws and regulations.
• Prepare and review tax returns, VAT filings, PAYE, withholding tax, and other statutory submissions.
• Ensure timely payment of all taxes and maintain accurate tax records.
• Liaise with tax authorities and handle tax audits, assessments, and inquiries.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on tax implications and compliance requirements.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to improve tax efficiency and minimize risks.
• Support financial reporting processes by ensuring accurate tax provisions and reconciliations.
• Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on tax matters.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with transfer pricing and statutory requirements where applicable.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to tax expenses and liabilities.
• Prepare tax reports for management review and decision‑making.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management or finance‑related roles.
• Strong knowledge of Rwanda tax laws and statutory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
