Senior HR Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a solutions‑driven Senior HR Officer to lead HR operations across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the People & Culture Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with internal policies and local labor laws while supporting a mission‑focused workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of HR processes including onboarding, contract management, leave tracking, and exits.
• Review and validate HR documentation for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
• Maintain audit‑ready physical and digital HR files.
• Coordinate payroll inputs with relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Standardize HR practices across all locations.
• Line‑manage HR Officers, allocate tasks, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching.
• Build capacity within the HR team through regular check‑ins and professional development.
• Handle employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
• Analyze relations trends and advise on risk mitigation and culture improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior HR roles with a focus on operations and employee lifecycle management.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor legislation, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of HR professionals.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in employee relations.
