About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a solutions‑driven Senior HR Officer to lead HR operations across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the People & Culture Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with internal policies and local labor laws while supporting a mission‑focused workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee implementation of HR processes including onboarding, contract management, leave tracking, and exits.
- Review and validate HR documentation for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
- Maintain audit‑ready physical and digital HR files.
- Coordinate payroll inputs with relevant departments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Standardize HR practices across all locations.
- Line‑manage HR Officers, allocate tasks, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching.
- Build capacity within the HR team through regular check‑ins and professional development.
- Handle employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Analyze relations trends and advise on risk mitigation and culture improvement.
Required profile
- Proven experience in senior HR roles with a focus on operations and employee lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of HR professionals.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially in employee relations.
