Retail Sales Assistant

About the role

Join the Petstock team in Ponsonby and provide memorable, meaningful interactions for pet owners. You will use your passion for animals to inspire customers and help them choose the best products and care for their pets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create lasting relationships with shoppers.
• Educate customers on pet care, products, and services based on up‑to‑date knowledge.
• Achieve store sales targets and complete accurate sales transactions.
• Maintain high store presentation standards, display new stock promptly, and replenish inventory as needed.
• Stay informed about pet care trends, product ranges, and promotional offers.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and fun in‑store culture.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for animals and strong customer‑service orientation.
• Previous experience in a similar retail environment.
• Demonstrated drive to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with customers and teammates.
• Physically able to lift products up to 20 kg.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and weekdays as required.
