Mechanical Engineer – System Engineering Automotive

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer specialized in system engineering for automotive applications. The role focuses on designing, analysing, validating, and documenting mechanical and thermal solutions that integrate with our power electronics products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyse, and validate mechanical and thermal solutions for power‑electronics systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create cost‑efficient, high‑performance thermal management solutions for reference designs.
• Provide technical support to customers, delivering solutions to thermal and mechanical challenges.
• Use CAD and advanced simulation tools to perform thermal and mechanical evaluations, ensuring design validation and optimisation.
• Develop and validate custom mechanical components and fixture assemblies for test setups.
• Maintain thorough and well‑organized documentation throughout the design and development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with power‑electronics system development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of working independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in automotive product design, liquid‑cooling solutions, and additive manufacturing is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks).
• Expertise with simulation software such as Ansys Maxwell and Ansys IcePak.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) knowledge.
• Experience with liquid‑cooling system design and 3D printing technologies.
• Familiarity with high‑frequency transformer design is advantageous.
