Intensive Case Management (ICM) Caseworker

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an Intensive Case Management (ICM) Caseworker to provide strengths‑based, client‑centered support to vulnerable refugee and asylum‑seeker populations. The role focuses on helping individuals and families overcome barriers to safety, health, and self‑sufficiency through coordinated services.

Key responsibilities

• Determine client eligibility for ICM programming and conduct comprehensive intake assessments.
• Develop individualized, SMART self‑sufficiency plans for each enrolled client.
• Monitor client progress every six months, adjusting plans and identifying new needs.
• Assist clients in navigating healthcare, social services, and benefit applications, and schedule appointments as needed.
• Conduct community outreach and maintain a robust network of service providers, including refugee coordinators and health officials.
• Provide extended orientation on topics such as women’s health, transportation, and physical healthcare systems.

Required profile

• Experience working with refugees, asylees, or other vulnerable populations.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian, social service, and health systems.
• Ability to develop client‑centered plans and evaluate progress objectively.
• Excellent communication and outreach skills, with a collaborative approach.
