Hardware-related Software Engineer (HN) – Embedded Systems

About the role

We are looking for a Hardware‑related Software Engineer (HN) to join the Horizontal NE team of Bosch Global Software Technologies in Ho Chi Minh City. The role focuses on developing low‑level embedded software that bridges hardware and application layers for safety‑critical automotive platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement drivers, hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and board support packages (BSP) for ARM‑based microcontrollers.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using GTest, SIL and HIL environments.
• Perform debugging and performance optimisation with tools such as Trace32, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Read and interpret datasheets and schematics to ensure correct HW‑SW integration.
• Collaborate with hardware, system and application teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Document technical designs and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2‑7 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a global, cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Hands‑on experience with ARM microcontroller architecture.
• Competence with GTest for unit testing.
• Familiarity with safety standards such as ASIL and ISO 26262.
• Experience using debugging tools (Trace32, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
