Financial Coach

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Financial Coach to deliver one‑on‑one financial counseling and coaching to clients served by its local programs. In this role you will help individuals create budgets, open bank accounts, manage loans, build credit and develop long‑term asset‑building strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1:1 financial coaching covering budgeting, banking, credit, loans and debt reduction.
• Assess client needs and develop individualized financial action plans.
• Deliver initial and follow‑up counseling sessions, making referrals to complementary services such as benefits assistance and tax preparation.
• Support the design and facilitation of workshops on budgeting, banking and credit.
• Track participant attendance, data, follow‑up services and outcomes in the ETO system.
• Collaborate with the Economic Empowerment Manager on outreach to banks and community partners.
• Complete and maintain CNM Certified Financial Coach certification and attend ongoing professional development.
• Ensure compliance with programmatic, contractual, donor and IRC standards.
• Participate in community of practice calls and broader financial capability initiatives.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Experience delivering financial education or counseling services.
• Ability to develop individualized financial plans and track outcomes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to data accuracy.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain CNM Certified Financial Coach certification.
