Cybersecurity Architect (Hybrid)

About the role

Saint Louis University is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to shape and protect its enterprise security landscape. Working in a hybrid model, you will translate academic and business objectives into robust security processes and technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a security architecture process aligned with academic, business, technology, and threat drivers.
• Create security strategy plans, tactical roadmaps, and draft procedures and standards for executive approval.
• Define baseline security configuration standards for OS hardening, network segmentation, cloud security architecture, and identity & access management (IAM).
• Evaluate costs, licensing, labor, and ROI for security technologies and services.
• Collaborate with the internal audit team to assess the design and effectiveness of security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven ability to design and implement systems architecture.
• Direct experience overseeing security infrastructure such as firewalls, IPS, WAF, endpoint protection, SIEM, and log management.
• Full‑stack knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Compliance oversight experience with PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, FERPA, NIST, and CSF.
• Skilled at interpreting business, technology, and threat drivers to develop practical security roadmaps.
