Consultant General Surgeon – Private Hospital in Lagos

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon to join a leading private tertiary healthcare institution in Lekki, Lagos. The role involves delivering high‑quality surgical care, managing complex cases and working within multidisciplinary teams to uphold clinical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general surgical procedures with a high level of competence.
• Provide pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative patient care.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, ICU and other specialists as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards, protocols and patient‑safety guidelines.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and emergency surgical care.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Fellowship qualification (FWACS, FMCS or internationally recognised equivalent).
• Full and active registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑fellowship experience as a practising General Surgeon.
• Proven experience handling a broad range of general surgical cases.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
