Business Engineer – Encoders

About the role

As a Business Engineer – Encoders you will act as the technical‑commercial bridge between SKF’s Encoder Bearings portfolio and OEM design teams. You will provide engineering support while driving new business opportunities across the assigned region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on magnetic, inductive and optical encoder technologies and their integration into motion systems.
• Support application engineering activities such as feasibility studies, specification matching, debugging, EMC considerations and performance validation.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews and interface compatibility with CNC, PLC, robotics and AGV/AMR controllers.
• Train internal sales, distributors and external integrators on encoder principles and product portfolio.
• Collect field feedback for Product Management and Engineering.
• Own business development for Encoder Bearings: opportunity creation, pipeline management and account penetration strategies.
• Promote value‑selling, articulate performance and total‑cost‑of‑ownership benefits, and partner with Sales Engineers to close deals.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or equivalent; additional business administration qualification is a plus.
• Solid experience with encoder technologies (absolute/incremental, magnetic, inductive, optical).
• Engineering background in robotics, CNC, automation, motion control or mechatronics.
• Proven experience in OEM B2B environments engaging both technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and German; Polish or French is advantageous.
