Building Quality Manager

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Building Quality Manager to join Selwyn Council on a four‑month fixed‑term secondment. The role will oversee accreditation, regulatory compliance and quality management for the Building Consent Authority (BCA) and support the wider building team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop BCA accreditation and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Lead quality assurance activities across the building team, including audits and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Manage internal and external communications related to quality and compliance matters.
• Provide support and guidance to the broader building department.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in quality systems management, audit execution and procedural improvement.
• Strong strategic insight combined with practical delivery capability.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and ability to adapt communication style for varied audiences.
• Experience leading a functional area of similar size within a large, multidisciplinary organisation (desirable).

Required skills

• Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems.
• Familiarity with the BCA accreditation scheme.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital work environments.
