Athletic Intern

About the role

The Athletic Intern supports the Saint Louis University Athletic Department in both internal and external operations. This position offers hands‑on experience in compliance, event management, marketing, student engagement, and general administration within a collegiate sports environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with NCAA compliance tasks, including rule interpretation, research, and waiver preparation.
• Support planning and execution of athletic events and facility rentals.
• Help with game‑day operations, such as setup and management for selected sports.
• Collaborate with marketing staff to enhance game presentation, including scripts, promotions, and entertainment.
• Engage students and the campus community to promote attendance and school spirit.
• Assist with administrative projects, policy updates, and spreadsheet management.
• Provide coverage for athletic events during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in athletics, marketing, or event management preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive matters involving student‑athletes.
