Associate Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Legal Counsel to support Balyasny Asset Management’s growth across Asia. The role works closely with senior legal colleagues and business partners, handling a range of legal matters in the asset‑management sector.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior legal teams and business partners with legal support for multiple asset classes and jurisdictions in Asia.
• Negotiate trading documentation with counterparties and prime brokers.
• Support fund structuring and fund documentation matters.
• Handle general corporate matters, including corporate secretarial duties such as board and shareholder meetings and statutory filings.
• Coordinate AML/KYC onboarding for Asia‑based trading counterparties.

Required profile

• LLB degree with a minimum of three years post‑qualification experience.
• Qualified to practice in a common‑law jurisdiction.
• Prior experience in financial services, preferably asset management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising good judgment on issue escalation.
