Adjunct Instructor – Thermodynamics (Fall 2025)

About the role

Saint Louis University’s School of Science and Engineering seeks a dynamic adjunct instructor to teach an undergraduate Thermodynamics course in the Fall 2025 semester. The position involves delivering hands‑on, student‑focused learning experiences to engineering majors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures covering gas properties, fundamental thermodynamic equations, and the first and second laws.
• Guide students through the analysis of engines, cycles, and thermodynamic processes.
• Develop and assess assignments, labs, and examinations that reinforce core concepts.
• Maintain a collaborative, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and practical experience in thermodynamics.
• Ability to engage undergraduate engineering students in active learning.
