Senior Loss Prevention & Risk Engineer
Job Purpose
Technical Lead - Holistic Offshore Pipelines and Marine Risk Assessment and Quantitative Risk Analysis
Your main duties will be to: -
Liaison with internal and external stakeholders
Providing all the required information to the study consultant
Coordinating, managing, and participating in all the technical meetings and workshops
Consultant Management – Commercial, Scheduling, Contractual Aspects, logistics support etc.
Interface coordination with all Asset Operators
Lead in defining approach, strategy, assumptions, Risk Acceptance Criteria, and other applicable inputs required.
Lead in developing Charter (scope, boundaries, approach)
Consultant Management
Facilitate technical resolution meetings.
Lead study documents review and facilitating to ensure deliverables are approved by all applicable Asset Operators and internal & external stakeholders.
Updates and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Major challenges are (1) establishing and maintaining alignment with Operations organizations and (2) ensure safe and reliable operations in a cost-effective way by providing sufficient technical information and guidance to influence others to take sound risk- based decisions.
Covers multiple locations with different requirements and priorities e.g., onshore, offshore, projects, etc.
Work requires analytical, interpretative, and constructive thinking, with a significant degree of evaluative/professional judgment.
Works in accordance with Company policies, and procedures, and understanding of relevant industry and international standards.
Profile
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical/ Mechanical)
10 years’ experience in loss prevention and technical safety in the oil and gas industry, especially in process safety, and risk assessment/studies
Special emphasis is placed on good understanding and sufficient experience with both qualitative & quantitative risk assessment techniques and defining Risk Acceptance Criteria (especially for Offshore facilities, subsea pipelines, and Single Point Mooring (SPM) Facilities).
Understanding of Offshore Operations, Subsurface, SPMs, Marine and Pipelines • Experience in work coordination, liaison, and interface management • Understanding of Pipelines characteristics, routes, bathymetric profiles, AIS Data, Ship, and anchors characteristics
Independent, able to work under minimum supervision. • Ability to work under tight timelines in sometimes high-pressure situations.
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, hazard identification software’s (e.g., PHAPro), consequence modelling and Risk assessment software (e.g., PHAST, Safeti), or other software (e.g. BowTie)
Very good knowledge or written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures, technical reports, and present them to various level of audience.
