Job Purpose
Reporting to the Management Committee (MC) and Board of Trustees (BOT): The GM/CEO shall anchor, improve and manage the business landscape of the Society according to the financial and other objectives defined by the MC/BOT.
The GM/CEO shall be responsible for driving the development of the Society as well as transforming the business portfolio of the Cooperative into a higher viable revenue-earning unit and organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership to managers and staff and build strong teams for the individual business units.
Further, develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan.
Develop and execute the organization’s development plan that aligns with the desires and aspirations of members of the Cooperative Society.
Oversee business operations and ensure prudent management of personnel and material resources.
Oversee the business financial performance reports to the Management Committee.
Oversee the organization’s investments and ventures.
Establish or Work with Society's existing business policies, processes, and legal guidelines
.Sustain long-term relationships with partners from the private sector, banks, government authorities, and cooperative vendors.
Effectively manage the entrepreneurial journey of new start-up ventures of the Cooperative Society for enhanced growth.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Work with the MC/BOT to sustain, enhance and build the Society’s business brand, culture, and standards for operational excellence.
Represent the organization in an ethical and professional manner.

Requirements
Qualifications /Experience
A University degree in Social Sciences such as Business Administration, Accounting, Law, or any relevant field but not lower than Second Class (Upper-Class Division).
Professional qualification in Accountancy (ICAN, ACCA), Stock Exchange, and Finance. Membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria would be an advantage.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) would be advantageous.
A minimum of 8 years of verifiable experience in a managerial role is required.
Hands-on experience in developing strategic and business plans.
Familiarity/experience with management and marketing best practices.
Experience in cooperative management and practices.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Well-connected in the business community in Nigeria.
