Daystar Power Group is a Pan-African provider of solar and hybrid power solutions, offering its systems on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), fixed monthly fee lease or buy-out basis. All our solutions are accompanied by comprehensive maintenance services, to ensure the solutions run 365 days a year. We are currently operational in seven countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Senegal and Ivory Coast, and have recently launched in South Africa and Tanzania.
We are looking to engage competent and experienced Field Service Technicians & Engineers to maintain and operate our sites in the FCT - Abuja, Nasarawa & Kano State, Nigeria. He or she will troubleshoot and repair PV inverters, commission new equipment, and increase customer satisfaction through quality service and professional behaviour. We are seeking hard working, motivated, and well-organized individuals with a focus on continuous improvement to exceed expectations.

Key responsibilities:
Field Service
o Implementation of procedures for operating and maintaining Daystar Powers’ assets at specific client sites
o Collaborates with team members to ensure:
i. Minimum uptime of 99.9%
ii. Operational site expenses with regards to diesel consumption, consumables and power from the grid is as per budget
iii. Adherence of clients to contractually agreed operational procedures and operating times
iv. Billing and collections together with the finance department
v. Best-practice maintenance of assets, including diesel and gas generators, batteries, inverters and solar panels to maximize their life
o Readily available to travel to various sites within Nigeria on a need basis.
o Ensuring best QHSE practices while on site.

Working condition
Approximately 5% of time shall be spent in the office environment with the remaining time in the field.
Physical requirements
The Technician shall be capable of lifting up to 20kg; stand for an extended period of time; work in outdoor environment.
Requirements
1. Education: Minimum of a Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Preferably Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical.
2. Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles, preferably in the renewable energy or power industry, installing and / or maintaining solar systems and generators.
3. Language Proficiency: English.
4. Character:
a. self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
b. passionate about quality of workmanship.
c. good communication skills and ability to lead and work well in teams.
d. discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
e. highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy.
5.HSE certification is an advantage.
6. Flexible to travel domestically and internationally.
7. Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in particular).
