strengthen the capacity of CSOs and local partners to effectively and efficiently implement contracts/grants;
contribute to a conducive partnership, a joint vision and clarified collaboration modalities between governments, and civil society and local partners;
help roll out HPV vaccination; and
robustly evaluate the contracts/grant with CSOs and local partners to capture learning and ensure course correction as required.
About your role
Reporting to the MSH Portfolio Manager, the Capacity Strengthening Coordinator is accountable for the program’s design, implementation and ongoing monitoring of activities related to grantee capacity strengthening, including operational and technical competency for fulfilment of grant agreements. This role will design and conduct the facilitated self-assessment process among grantees, action planning for strengthening capacity where the assessment finds areas for growth, and coordination of technical assistance for agreed areas of capacity strengthening.
How will YOU accomplish this?
As the Capacity Strengthening Coordinator you will be expected to lead, support, or supervise capacity development and strengthening activities in program countries, including but not limited to the design and implementation of capacity assessments, action planning, technical assistance for key competencies, and monitoring and evaluation of activities.
Specific areas of accountability could include:
Identifying common critical areas for capacity strengthening among CSOs and other local partners and developing technical assistance approaches that may be adapted to various country and health system contexts, such as financial management; human resources management; monitoring, evaluation, and reporting; program management and oversight; and organizational governance.
Supporting the identification and dissemination of key immunization program approaches, evidence-based practices, and programmatic strategies to strengthen grantees’ technical results.
Collaborating with key stakeholders and project colleagues to develop ongoing capacity strengthening strategies that lend to vaccination and zero-dose program sustainability at all levels of the health system.
Collaborating with the core project team, regional coordinators, and country coordinators to ensure capacity development activities are adapted, implemented, and closely monitored and documented throughout implementation and that actions are taken to continually improve activity performance (including re-orienting and adjusting strategies when needed).
Supporting knowledge management through technical forums, working groups, and other meetings with grantees, host country government, and other counterparts.
Ensuring effective project collaboration, coordination, and internal partnerships with other partner and MSH projects in countries to build synergies across programs for maximum impact.
Collaborating with the MSH headquarters support team and participate as required in activities organized for MSH staff involved in the program.
This list is not exhaustive, and we would expect our Capacity Building Coordinator to be both innovative and strategic in suggesting and implementing new methods to achieve the outcomes and impact desired by our client and needed by the people the project aims to serve.
