Auto Mechanics diagnose, repair, and help prevent problems with vehicle performance and ensure that vehicles operate in a safe, reliable manner.
Responsibilities:
To receive job cards and execute the repairs/service assigned according to required standards to avoid return jobs.
Carry out repairs in the job order/ card in compliance with procedures for safe operations.
Establishing vehicles’ faults through the necessary diagnostic process and proffering solutions as required skilfully.
To identify other faults on the vehicles, not included in the job order and report to the service advisor through the workshop supervisor.
Shall record all jobs done on a vehicle in the job card for proper invoicing by the service advisor.
Shall get approvals on all jobs requiring approvals from the service advisor before execution.
Ensures all spare parts collected from the stores are utilized for the purpose on which they are collected for.
Ensure the tools are properly kept and submitted for audit as necessary on request.
Ensure good housekeeping of the workshop and surroundings after work.
To identify and report any hazard, unsafe act, or condition in the workshop to the HSE as appropriate.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems.
Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment.
Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic.
