The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture on behalf of CIP seeks suitable Nigerian for the position below at the CIP project location in Jos. NPSSP aims to support potato seed security in Nigeria by building local capacity within the public and private sector to supply adequate amounts of quality seed of in-demand and locally adapted varieties that meet the main market segment, while supporting smallholder farmers in maximizing their investments in seed through building capacity in on-farm seed quality management, good agricultural practices for improving soil health and fertility.

DUTIES:
CIP is looking for a dynamic Finance and Administration Assistant to provide technical support in a wide range of financial and administrative and day-to-day office duties to guarantee smooth flow and effectiveness of operations.
Finance
Support financial operations of the country office and ensure timely delivery of financial reports.
Enter financial information, timely month-end close, and maintain all financial records for projects audit in line with donor requirement.
Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Control petty cash to ensure a proper reimbursement.
Make bank deposits and keep records.
Identify and communicate any related issues to management promptly.
Support the country’s statutory annual audits.
Support staff when traveling by making necessary logistics arrangements like hotel and flight booking bookings, airport pickup & drop off, and give support to program staff during training by providing necessary administrative support.
Coordinate office management. And fleet management of the field office vehicles.
Provide support to procurement operations, following standard processes and ensuring effective service delivery.
Prepare fixed assets register of the Center, review, and support the preparation of inventories.
Responsible for the coordination of IT issues with the CIP regional office and IITA, serving as IT Key user.
Ensure files are well kept in physical and electronic files for audit purposes.
Ensure and support in maintenance of a good filing system.
Act as Risk, Security, and Safety focal point to ensure the health and safety of all staff.
Perform any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Administration
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
BSc/HND in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
Have proven relevant experience as a Finance & Administrative Assistant
Be familiar with office management procedures and basic accounting principles.
Have strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Have excellent organizational skills.
Be fluent in Hausa language (speaking and writing) according to country.
Have advanced written and oral communication skills in English.
Have excellent knowledge of MS Office and office management software.
