Finance Manager – French Accounting

About the role

Amazon’s French accounting team is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the controllership of its French and Belgian entities. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will ensure accurate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closes while supporting the rapid growth of the business across retail, AWS and devices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes for French and Belgian entities, guaranteeing compliance with local statutory requirements.
• Perform analytical reviews of balance sheets and income statements under French/Belgian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS, delivering insights for business decisions.
• Prepare statutory accounts, support tax compliance and draft technical accounting memoranda for complex transactions.
• Collaborate with auditors, IT and cross‑functional finance partners to enhance controls and drive process standardisation.
• Identify automation opportunities and work with IT to implement improvements in financial reporting systems.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (BAC + 5) in Finance or a French CPA qualification (DCG/DSCG).
• Several years of accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 background and in a medium‑to‑large international company.
• Deep knowledge of French and Belgian GAAP, as well as US GAAP or IFRS, and related statutory and tax requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑entity accounting environments in a fast‑paced setting.
