Business Contract Legal Counsel

About the role

Questel is seeking a Business Contract Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal Department. You will support the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts related to intellectual property services, while helping to improve internal legal processes.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, adapt, and negotiate client, supplier and service‑provider contracts linked to IP services.
• Assist in digitising contracts, updating workflows, and maintaining the contract database in line with regulations.
• Conduct preliminary legal research, identify risks, and prepare internal guidance notes or reports.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and local legal teams worldwide to ensure smooth contract execution.
• Monitor legal developments, professional standards and regulatory changes, summarising impacts for the legal team.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law, preferably commercial/business, contract or IP law.
• At least 2 years of experience as a contracts or business legal counsel in a legal department, IP law firm or service‑oriented environment.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally involving IP services.
• Previous exposure to multinational or international service‑oriented settings is a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of contract law, intellectual property law and interest in IT‑related legal topics.
