Adjunct Instructor (Architecture) – Pool

About the role

The Department of Architecture at Prairie View A&M University is creating a pool of qualified candidates for future non‑tenure‑track, part‑time Adjunct Instructor positions. Appointees will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on an as‑needed basis, with compensation determined per course.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to 7 undergraduate/graduate semester credit hours per semester (less than 50% FTE).
• Maintain and manage student records, post grades, and submit attendance reports promptly.
• Provide mentorship and assistance to students.
• Hold a minimum of three office‑hour sessions per week.
• Participate in student orientation, studio, or simulation meetings when required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the department head.

Required profile

• Doctorate or master’s degree in Architecture (or related discipline) with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline for undergraduate instruction.
• For graduate courses, a terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in the discipline.
• Prior collegiate teaching experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with online learning management systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using learning management systems for course delivery.
