About the role
UNICEF Burundi is looking for a Supply Assistant (G‑5) on a fixed‑term basis to support the planning, procurement and contracting of goods and services needed for its programmes. The role ensures accurate and timely processing of procurement requisitions and contributes to the efficient delivery of supplies across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Process procurement requisitions (sales orders) and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Draft tender documents, purchase orders and contracts, and monitor them through to closure.
- Support alternative delivery mechanisms and procurement services to meet programme needs.
- Apply UNICEF and public‑sector procurement rules, partnership mechanisms and supply‑chain procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports using UNICEF office tools.
Required profile
- Completion of secondary education, preferably with technical or university courses in supply chain, business administration or contract law.
- Minimum five years of administrative experience in supply‑chain management or a commercial environment.
- Thorough knowledge of supply‑chain processes, public‑sector procurement regulations and partnership mechanisms.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Experience with UNICEF office tools and standard procurement software.
