Senior Specialist, Regional People Partnering

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Specialist to lead Regional People Partnering in Mauritius. You will act as a strategic HR advisor to local leadership, ensuring alignment with global People objectives while tailoring initiatives to the Mauritian context.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with local leadership to understand business needs and provide strategic People support.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for managers, offering coaching, performance management, and cultural guidance.
• Partner with the global People team to share best practices and ensure consistency across regions.
• Design and facilitate leadership and cultural initiatives that reflect core values and operating principles.
• Run workshops to identify improvement opportunities, enhance the work environment, and boost engagement.
• Lead DEIB, leadership development, and employee engagement programs.
• Champion regional change management initiatives, creating communication plans that drive adoption.
• Manage end‑to‑end HR projects such as onboarding, policy implementation, and organizational restructuring, defining scope, timelines, and milestones.
• Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support People operations ensuring compliance with Mauritian labour laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Analyse People data and trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Help design, build, and implement HR programs, processes, and tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR business partnering or people operations, preferably at a senior level.
• Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills with senior leaders.
• Deep understanding of Mauritian labour legislation and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and manage complex HR projects.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and cultural awareness.
• Data‑driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.
