Senior Electro‑mechanical Technologist

About the role

3M is seeking a Senior Electro‑mechanical Technologist to join its Woodlands plant. You will work on building, testing, troubleshooting and maintaining electro‑mechanical, vacuum, motor and pneumatic assemblies in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists to assemble, repair and test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, AC/DC motor and pneumatic components.
• Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, identify errors and execute corrective actions.
• Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to verify assemblies and record data on computer terminals.
• Maintain a safe, clean and compliant work area, follow all safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
• Support existing production lines, testers and automation projects, including preventive maintenance, calibration and first‑level troubleshooting.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, coordinate with suppliers for quotes, training and support.
• Participate in internal Kaizen projects, new equipment introductions and audit activities (5S, ISO, EHS).
• Lead case‑study and cost‑saving projects for major equipment modifications.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years of manufacturing experience with vacuum, AC/DC motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment service manuals and local electrical codes.
• Strong teamwork skills, collaborating with vendors, contractors, engineers and supervisors.
