Safety Engineer (Key Expert)

About the role

The Safety Engineer (Key Expert) will support the Consultant Team Leader and project stakeholders in ensuring safe construction practices in Thimphu, Bhutan. Working closely with the Employer, Contractor and engineering team, you will help implement and monitor safety standards throughout the project.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant Team Leader and other members in collaboration with the Employer and Contractor.
• Review the Health and Safety Management Plan (HSMP) in line with JICA Standard Safety Specification.
• Support construction supervision activities focused on safety compliance.
• Coordinate with the HPP ESIA Consultant to manage environmental and social aspects related to safety.
• Arrange coordination of related works with assistance from the Project Manager.

Required profile

• Experience in safety engineering within construction projects.
• Familiarity with health and safety management plans and JICA safety standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Health and Safety Management Plan (HSMP) review.
• Construction safety supervision.
• Environmental and social management coordination for safety.
