About the role

The Regional Sales Manager reports to the New Zealand Head of Sales and is accountable for commercial performance and operational excellence across stores in an assigned region. The role leads and develops Area Managers, aligns regional plans with national strategy, and ensures consistent execution of sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement regional sales and action plans that support national objectives, including budgeting and OPEX management.
  • Set performance expectations for Area Managers, monitor KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and approve improvement plans.
  • Conduct structured field visits with Area Managers to promote best practices in customer experience, sales effectiveness, and operational routines.
  • Ensure consistent execution of operational processes, training initiatives, and audit activities across the region.
  • Drive regional business development initiatives such as local partnerships, workplace programs, and market growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate new site openings and regional projects with landlords, shopfitters, and external vendors.
  • Act as escalation point for complex operational or client issues and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate weekly KPI reporting and monthly business commentary in line with governance standards.

Required profile

  • 5–8 years of experience managing managers in multi‑site retail environments.
  • Proven track record of delivering commercial targets and driving market growth.
  • Strong change‑leadership capability and strategic sales planning experience.
  • Advanced commercial acumen with solid analytical and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
